18-β Glycyrrhetinic acid is a pentacyclic triterpene acid extracted from liquorice root (glycyrrhiza glabra).
The structure of 18-β-Glycyrrhetinic acid is similar to cortisol which might be the reason for its anti-inflammatory properties. It also has antifungal and antibacterial activity.
