ADDITOL XL 109

ADDITOL XL 109 prevents surface defects in oxidatively drying paints, like icing, wrinkling, shrinkage. Enhances through-drying, levelling and hardness. For paints on oil and alkyd resins. ADDITOL XL 109 is a specific antioxidizing agent for oxidizing paint systems and inhibits or retards the crosslinking reactions initiated by air oxygen in the surface of paint films. Thus ADDITOL XL 109 acts as antiskinning agent and impairs too quick drying of the surface. The paint films remain liquid for longer times and oxygen can contact the deeper layers of the films. Through drying is enhanced and becomes uniform over the whole layer of the film.Surface defects usually due to inuniform drying, like icing, wrinkling and shrinkage can be prevented. At the same time, gloss, levelling, and film hardness are enhanced.ADDITOL XL 109 remains active in the paint on prolonged storage in closed containers. Crystallization eventually occurring on storage at lower temperatures can be dissolved by gentle heating. We recommend to jointly use ADDITOL XL 109 and ADDITOL XL 297. Both additives are supplementary in effect giving superior performance in respect of antiskinning, drying and gloss.
ADDITOL VXW 4940N

ADDITOL VXW 4940N is the lead-free combination drier. ADDITOL VXW 4940N produces in water-dilutable alkyd resin paints a quick set-drying in connection with an even trough-drying. ADDITOL VXW 4940N contains all metals which are necessary for an utmost oxidative drying. Adding any other drier is not necessary. ADDITOL VXW 4940N can be used as drier for all water-dilutable, oxidatively drying alkyd resin paints. Especially recommendable is the usage of ADDITOL VXW 4940N for drying alkyd resin emulsions, e. g. Resydrol AY 586w, Resydrol AY 466w, Resydrol AZ 436w, because contrary to conventional driers a homogeneous distribution is provided and therefore a quick drying and most of all good drying stability can be achieved. ADDITOL VXW 4940N can also be used for acryl-alkyd hybrid systems.
ADDITOL VXW 6393

ADDITOL VXW 6393 was designed to destroy foam generated in emulsion wall-paints, based on PVAC, PVC, acrylics and their mixed polymers. Prior to using ADDITOL VXW 6393 it should be thoroughly agitated since it is prone to sediment fall out. When examining its rheology it is necessary to wait an additional 5 minutes. ADDITOL VXW 6393 can be easily emulsified and worked into the designated product.
ADDITOL XL 203

High pigment loading without increase in viscosity. Reduction of dispersing time. Enhances gloss and levelling. For air drying and stoving solvent-borne paints and particularly for water dilutable paint systems. ADDITOL XL 203 prevents the floating of titanium dioxide in conjunction with organic or inorganic coloured pigments. It can be employed in solvent-borne and water dilutable air drying and stoving paint systems. ADDITOL XL 203 enhances gloss and levelling of paint films. Pigment loading of paints and pigment pastes can be increased without rises in viscosity. Dispersion time is reduced. The recommended level may range from 0.1 to 1.5 % on total paint. Level on pigments: inorganic pigments: 0.5 - 2.5 %, organic pigments: 1.5 - 5 %. The figures given here may serve as a guide for extensive trials to find the optimum in dosage and effect and to save costs. Since ADDITOL XL 203 is a cationic product it should not be used in conjunction with certain anionic products. Phase seperation occurs and ADDITOL XL 203 becomes ineffective at once. The compatibility should be determined by experiments. ADDITOL XL 203 can be combined with cationic and non-ionic products.
