Initial drying slows in proportion to the addition of TUNGOPHEN B NV. This improves the flow properties of the coating and reduces the likelihood of surface defects, even in thicker films. TUNGOPHEN B NV is usually added at room temperature as a solution in xylene. The addition of TUNGOPHEN B NV results in yellowing. For this reason, it should not be used in white coatings. The amount used in pale-colored coatings should be kept to a minimum. Addition of the product to coatings based on medium-oil alkyd resins, e.g. Setal A F 48, will result in particularly significant acceleration of through-drying. TUNGOPHEN B NV should not be used in styrenated alkyd resins, oil based coatings or oil/resin combination coatings.

RESAMIN HF 480 has the properties of a plasticizer as well as that of a soft resin. It contains no organic solvents. It is light-fast and heat resistant and stable against hydrolysis. Resamin HF 480 is mainly used as a soft resin in nitrocellulose lacquers for the coating of wood and paper to improve flexibility, adhesion, gloss and outdoor durability. Resamin HF 480 can also be used in stoving systems based on alkyd/amino resins or in coatings based on thermoplastic resins to improve flexibility and adhesion. In combination with thermoplastic resins like Hostaflex (PVC) or Butvar (poly vinyl butyral), pigmentation and gloss development are improved as well.
