SETAL A F 48 TB/X

SETAL A F 48 TB/X is in the formulation of high-quality, air and force-drying industrial coatings, radiator paints, special effect finishes, primers and DIY paints. SETAL A F 48 TB/X is the standard binder for air and force-drying industrial coatings. Itsmain characteristics are its rapid drying (four-hour coating), good through-drying and curing to formdefect-free films, even in thick coats. It also yields good film properties - whiteness, resistance to yellowing, gloss and gloss retention, brilliance, body, flow and weather stability. SETAL A F 48 TB/X can be used in primers as well as in all types of top coats and one-coat finishes. Coatings based on SETAL A F 48 TB/X can be applied using conventional methods such as spraying, dipping and flow coating. A combination of 0.1 % Ca/0.06 % Co/0.2 % Zn and 0.2 % Zr-octoate, calculated as metal on solvent-free resin, has proved to be a useful mixture for speeding up the drying. Combination with long-oil alkyd resins is necessary for DIY paints applied by brushing.
SETAL A F 26 X

SETAL A F 26 X is in the formulation of primers, knifing fillers, primer surfacers, top coats and dipping paints and flow coatings for radiators. Coatings based on SETAL A F 26 X are characterised by their very rapid drying and curing, high resistance to yellowing, weather stability and good anticorrosion properties. The use of alkaline pigments such as zinc phosphate, zinc oxide and aluminium triphosphate make it possible to optimize the anticorrosion properties of primers based on SETAL A F 26 X. Knifing fillers and primer surfacers applied in thickness of up to 200 μm can be dry-sanded within 1 hour. Combination with aminoplastic resins is recommended when formulating force-drying coatings.
VIACRYL SC 200/40X

Air and forced drying industrial coatings with fast drying and high hardness. Specialty coatings for glass, precious metals and plastics. It is used as air drying coating systems Viacryl SC 200/40X is mainly used for fast drying industrial paints. The dried films are noted for very high hardness and excellent resistance poperties e.g. against water and diluted acids. For air-dried systems (tack-free in 15 minutes) Viacryl SC 200 can be used alone or in combination with plasticizers. Such systems compared with systems using Viacryl SC 200 as sole binder show better pigment wetting and flexibility. The use of plasticizers will, however have a negative influence on alkali resistance. The compatibility of Viacryl SC 200 with other coatings ingredients should be controlled from time to time. Stoving enamels For stoving systems Viacryl SC 200 is generally formulated with plasticizers and urea or melamine resins. The following ratios habe proven successful: Viacryl SC 200 : amino resin : plasticizer = 70 : 15 : 15 or 65 : 15 : 20 (on solids). Compared with air drying systems such systems show after curing (e. g. 30 min/140 °C) improved flexibility, hardness, impact and chip resistance. Specialty coatings For air drying as well as stoving systems Viacryl SC 200 can be used to formulate specialty coatings with good adhesion to glass, precious metals, and various plastics such as ABS and polyphenylene oxide (PPO).
VIACRYL SC 303/65XB

Automotive finishes, in particular for metallics, especially for metallic basecoats (wet-on-wet process). Stoving enamels with good outdoor stability and colour retention, for general industrial purposes. Viacryl SC 303/65XB is used in combination with melamine and urea resins for the formulation of stoving enamels. The principal application area is automotive finishes, in particular metallics and clear coats for two-coat metallic systems, in combination with cellulose acetobutyrate for basecoats in two-coat metallics, but also industrial applications such as electric night storage heaters, fluorescent lamps, household appliances, boilers and drying boxes. In addition to their good adhesion, gloss, hardness, flexibility and corrosion resistance, paint films based on Viacryl SC 303 have very good stability to heat and to UV radiation. This is impressively evident in the case of top coats in two-coat metallic paints which, after prolonged outdoor exposure in Florida, show neither discolouration, cracking nor gloss impairment.
