SETAL A F 48 TB/X is in the formulation of high-quality, air and force-drying industrial coatings, radiator paints, special effect finishes, primers and DIY paints. SETAL A F 48 TB/X is the standard binder for air and force-drying industrial coatings. Itsmain characteristics are its rapid drying (four-hour coating), good through-drying and curing to formdefect-free films, even in thick coats. It also yields good film properties - whiteness, resistance to yellowing, gloss and gloss retention, brilliance, body, flow and weather stability. SETAL A F 48 TB/X can be used in primers as well as in all types of top coats and one-coat finishes. Coatings based on SETAL A F 48 TB/X can be applied using conventional methods such as spraying, dipping and flow coating. A combination of 0.1 % Ca/0.06 % Co/0.2 % Zn and 0.2 % Zr-octoate, calculated as metal on solvent-free resin, has proved to be a useful mixture for speeding up the drying. Combination with long-oil alkyd resins is necessary for DIY paints applied by brushing.

SETAL A F 26 X is in the formulation of primers, knifing fillers, primer surfacers, top coats and dipping paints and flow coatings for radiators. Coatings based on SETAL A F 26 X are characterised by their very rapid drying and curing, high resistance to yellowing, weather stability and good anticorrosion properties. The use of alkaline pigments such as zinc phosphate, zinc oxide and aluminium triphosphate make it possible to optimize the anticorrosion properties of primers based on SETAL A F 26 X. Knifing fillers and primer surfacers applied in thickness of up to 200 μm can be dry-sanded within 1 hour. Combination with aminoplastic resins is recommended when formulating force-drying coatings.

SETAL A F 681 TBA is in the formulation of decorative paints with excellent through-drying and good yellowing resistance. Also for flow coatings, DIY paints and air-drying coatings. General SETAL A F 681 TBA is low-viscosity long-oil alkyd resin which is ideal for use in the formulation of DIY and decorative paints with excellent through-drying, a dust-free drying time of approx. 3.5 hours and a tack-free drying time of approx. 6 hours. Because of the relatively high acid value of SETAL A F 681 TBA, the following driers should be used: 0.04 % colbalt 6, 1.20 % zirconium 18 and 0.20 % calcium 4. The metal content is always calculated on the solvent-free resin. The use of these driers ensures good drying stability, even after prolonged storage. The addition of an anti-skinning agent is recommended. Aliphatic hydrocarbons are used to thin SETAL A F 681 TBA. Higher boiling fractions are particularly suitable for adjusting the brushing viscosity. Standard pigments can be used to colour the formulations. The compatibility with alkaline pigments must always be tested in each individual case

SETAL A E 41 X is a short-oil, fatty acid-modified alkyd resin with extremely low viscosity. In the formulation of nitrocellulose lacquers for wood. Nitrocellulose lacquers. SETAL A E 41 X is an alkyd resin with extremely low viscosity for use in the formulation of nitrocellulose lacquers. It is characterized in particular by the following: unusually fast drying rates, especially at high wet film thicknesses, high flexibility and hardness, excellent sandability and high body combined with good sag resistance of the films on wood, excellent lightfastness, excellent intercoat adhesion. The extremely low viscosity of SETAL A E 41 X results in higher solids contents. SETAL A E 41 X can be combined in various ratios with nitrocellulose to formulate wood lacquers. Because of its unusually fast drying rates, SETAAL A E 41 X has gained particular significance in wood lacquers for application on production lines using conveyor dryers.
