ROSKYDAL E 70

ROSKYDAL E 70 is a flexibilising resin for wax-free polyesters, UV-curing styrene systems and spray, roller and knifing fillers. Even in a ratio of 6 : 4, clear or pigmented combinations of ROSKYDAL 500 A and ROSKYDAL E 70 have excellent scratch resistance and gloss. This mixing ratio yields highly flexible coatings and improves the polishability of films based on ROSKYDAL 500 A. ROSKYDAL E 70 is also suitable for use as a flexibilizer in photo-polymerizing ROSKYDAL systems and in clear coats, roller primers and highly filled roller fillers based on ROSKYDAL 300/1. ROSKYDAL E 70 is a highly effective flexibilizer. The systems to which it is added are easier to sand because they abrade more readily. Adding larger amounts of ROSKYDAL E 70 to spray fillers based on wax-free polyesters such as ROSKYDAL 500 A or 620 yields excellent adhesion on medium-density fiberboard, metal car body components and some plastics. ROSKYDAL E 70 can also be used to flexibilize amine-accelerated grades such as ROSKYDAL K 14 M, K 36 and K 40 T.
RESYDROL AZ 6710W/41WA

RESYDROL AZ 6710W/41WA does not contain organic co-solvent and can be used as sole binder for (trim) paints, primers and wood-stains.
ROSKYDAL 502 BA

ROSKYDAL 502 BA is a formulation of clear and pigmented, monomer-free coatings for applying thin finishes to wood and furniture. The coatings can be cured by conventional methods or UV radiation and have good resistance to solvents and other chemicals and yellowing in both light and dark conditions. ROSKYDAL 502 BA permits the formulation of monomer-free coatings for applying thin finishes to wood and furniture. The application rate should not exceed 100 g/m2. The coatings can be cured by conventional methods or, after addition of photo-initiators, by UV radiation. The resultant films are hard and resistant to scratching, to solvents and other chemicals and to yellowing in both light and dark conditions. The requirements of, for example, DIN 68 861, Group B, are thus satisfied. The drying of the coatings can be accelerated by the addition of nitrocellulose. Inadequate compatibility with cellulose acetobutyrate results in clouding of the film. Coatings based on ROSKYDAL 502 BA can be applied using conventional methods, e.g. spraying, roller coating or curtain coating. Conventional curing: curing by conventional methods requires the addition of a cobalt accelerator (e.g. cobalt octoate) and peroxide. For curing at room temperature or temperatures up to approx. 60 °C we recommend the use of cyclohexanone peroxide. Tertiary butyl peroctoate should be used at higher curing temperatures because it results in a longer pot life. Even small amounts of styrenewill significantly reduce the pot life of a coating containing cobalt/peroxide.
ROSKYDAL 300/1

ROSKYDAL 300/1 is a formulation of clear and pigmented UV-curing top coats with very good flow properties for application by spraying and curtain coating. After the addition of photo-initiators, ROSKYDAL 300/1 can be cured under UV lamps. When using high-pressure mercury vapour lamps with a capacity of 80 - 120 W/cm lamp length, standard commercial initiators can be used. However, their suitability for the intended application should be tested, especially with respect to storage stability, reactivity and yellowing. The use of 2.5 % Irgacure® 17001 or Irgacure 6511 is recommended for clear coats (max. application rate: 250 g/cm2). In the case of top coats, Baysilone® Paint Additive PL2 should be used to promote the flow properties. The addition of 2 % of a 1 % solution in toluene is recommended. Pigmented coatings should be formulated using 2 % Lucirin® TPO1 or other suitable photoinitiators. All the quantities given are calculated on the resin supply form. Clear coats may contain soluble dyestuffs and highly disperse silicas. Primers are formulated using highly disperse silicas and quartz powder. Soluble dyestuffsmay also be added. The addition of 5 - 10 % Desmodur® L or Desmodur N improves the adhesion. However, such combinations have a limited pot life (approx. 24 hours with a 5 % addition of Desmodur L).
