ADDITOL VXW 4940N is the lead-free combination drier. ADDITOL VXW 4940N produces in water-dilutable alkyd resin paints a quick set-drying in connection with an even trough-drying. ADDITOL VXW 4940N contains all metals which are necessary for an utmost oxidative drying. Adding any other drier is not necessary. Especially recommendable is the usage of ADDITOL VXW 4940N for drying alkyd resin emulsions, e. g. Resydrol AY 586w, Resydrol AY 466w, Resydrol AZ 436w, because contrary to conventional driers a homogeneous distribution is provided and therefore a quick drying and most of all good drying stability can be achieved. ADDITOL VXW 4940N can also be used for acryl-alkyd hybrid systems.

Prevents the sedimentation of pigments in paints. Improves the pigment-wetting during dispersion. In many paint systems the floating of pigments in pigment-mixtures is prevented. The tendency to flow off is reduced and the covering of edges is improved. Suggested for all solvent based and solvent-free paint systems. ADDITOL XL 270 is usually compatible with solvent based and solvent-free binders. It prevents the sedimentation of pigments in paints. The rheological character of paints is improved. The tendency to flow on vertical surfaces is reduced. The edges of substrates are better covered in case of dipping application. The drying of oxidatively drying systems is not influenced by ADDITOL XL 270, if the appropriated dose is used. Also the efficiency of siccatives in paints, stored for a long time, is not reduced using ADDITOL XL 270. Considering anti-corrosive paints, there is no corrosion-resistance loss by using ADDITOL XL 270. It is recommended to be used for the activating of organophile bentonites and it improves the effect of pyrogene silica.

ADDITOL XL 180 enhances intercoat adhesion of stoving paints and fast drying air-drying paints on electrodeposition primers, white electrodeposition paints and primers. ADDITOL XL 180 is dilutable with aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons,ketones, esters and alcohols, and is in its form of delivery not dilutable with water. ADDITOL XL 180 improves intercoat adhesion between finish and primer. ADDITOL XL 180 has excellent compatibility characteristics with many binder systems and thus affords universal use. In water dilutable systems ADDITOL XL 180 is best used neutralized with amines, preferably triethylamine. Effects of ADDITOL XL 180 are increased adhesion and enhanced flexibility of stoving alkyd or acrylic resin paints to primers and white paints applied b electrodeposition. In single coats on iron and aluminium, ADDITOL XL 180 does not seem to be efficience. ADDITOL XL 180 as well as its salts can be combined with non-ionic and anionic substances with interfacial activity. Compatibility with cationic substances, however, should be checked individually to prevent mutual flocculation and reduction of gloss. Experience so far has neither shown impaired weathering resistance nor reduced storage stability in connection with the use of ADDITOL XL 180.

ADDITOL XL 203 reduces dispersing time. Enhances gloss and levelling. Effective with all pigments employed in air drying and stoving solvent-borne paints and water dilutable paints systems. ADDITOL XL 250 is a wetting agent and dispersing agent effective in solvent-borne, and water dilutable air drying and stoving paint systems. Even small additions considerably reduce pigment milling time. ADDITOL XL 250 enhances gloss and levelling of the paint films and gives strong colours with organic pigments. ADDITOL XL 250 prevents sedimentation of pigments and extenders. ADDITOL XL 250, used in water dilutable paint systems, exerts a stabilizing effect on the paint binder.
